National Curry Week - Meat Free Monday
It’s national curry week everyone. Celebrating all things spice.
Meat free Monday is a popular day for allowing your body to rest from the weekend food consumption.
The best spiced Indian vegan dishes are found in the family kitchens of many Indian homes. In the Gujarat state of India dal is a staple ingredient and is cooked is many ways.
One particular dal is my favourite Toor, it’s also known as pigeon peas and funny enough tastes of PEAS. A great source of protein.
Washed and cooked to perfection, a delicious masala using complex flavours, spicy, warm, sweet, sour, citrus all blended together to create the most delicious soup.
It’s can be thick or slightly loose so that it can be served over rice and accompanied with a crispy popadom, lime pickle and yoghurt.
A perfect meat free meal, comforting and totally delicious. It’s great for lunch and dinner. A light meal, which packs brilliant flavour and it’s all vegan. Gluten free.
Give it a try and you will see how amazing it is. Award winning.
